DC

We went to visit my grandma a month or two ago. It was a great time! We didn't get the camera out until the last 2 minutes we were there, but here are pictures with my grandma!

Here's why we took so few pictures: on our way to the metro which would take us downtown, there was a slow moving truck hauling a trailer in front of us. The trailer was hauling a couple of big horses in such a way that their posteriors were in full view. I said to Heidi, "Let's take a picture of that so we can show everyone what the Maryland countryside really looks like. So she got out the camera, but before she could snap the picture, we had to turn and missed the golden opportunity. We then of course forgot to get the camera out of the car so that we could take pictures of monuments and other famous DC touristy things. What a shame.

So believe it or not we went to see some national treasures. We went to some Smithsonian Museums, namely the Air and Space Museum and the Natural History Museum. We really liked the rocks at the Natural History Museum and the Air and Space Museum made me feel like I needed to build an airplane. I figure if those early airplaners were able to do it with the technology they had, it should be a piece of cake to make one nowadays. We also saw the Lincoln Monument (Heidi's favorite), the Washington Monument, the White House, and a lot of tourists.

We had a great time and hope to return to visit again soon!
