Updating the House

We are really enjoying our new house and making it our own place. Here are some of the things we've been doing. Our most recent project is the drywall in the basement. Thanks to all our friends and family for helping!

Our basement when we started.

Tearing up the carpet

The foam under the carpet took forever to scrape up. Luckily Craig figured out if you put water on it, it comes up much easier!

Wood paneling is off!

Matt helped with the electrical. Thank you!

Insulation

We had a drywall party for Labor Day. Doug and Lucinda came for the weekend and we kept them busy! Thanks for helping!

A whole lot of mudding.

We put in a new garage and front door because both of them were old and falling apart. This one was easy, so we decided to do the front door the next day.

We got the door out. Now to just get it in...

It took much longer than the garage door, but we finally got it in.

Our room

Owen and Kent helping with the paint

Owen and Kent's room. They both love having a bunk bed. Oh and a bright orange wall!

Kid's bathroom - before

After

Dining Room - I made him hold it up so you could see the old light.

The funny shelf/wall is gone too! Still need to do the trim in some areas around the house.

This lady loved pink. None of it matches, but it is all pink. Does anyone want a pink bidet?

It's crazy, but i don't hate the floor!

Craig put in a new toilet. It's not pink!

Redoing the floor in the laundry room.

Yeah! The floor isn't gross in the laundry room.

Living Room - before

After- you can't see much of the new base boards, but that updated the house a lot.

So many people have given us so many things. We really feel blessed. Our neighbors gave us this awesome swing set. The kids love it!

  1. Holy Cow you guys have been busy! Everything looks amazing! I'm only a little jealous since I can't see us owning a house in the foreseeable future. I loved the basement and bathroom especially (are you sure you wanted to change them so much)? I hope you guys are doing awesome!
